Finding the right photographer for your wedding is really important. Although most of us make sure we are unobtrusive photography ninjas, we are still present for a majority of your wedding day. It’s crucial to feel comfortable with whoever you book. I’m writing this blog to let you know more about me, my style, and my why behind wedding photography so you can get a feel for if I am a good fit for you.

How I Work

I believe in communication from the moment you book until your photos are safely backed up, printed, or curated in an album. I’m always at the end of an email and like to touch base regularly during the planning process.

I love to pre-plan, so it’s never just a “thanks for booking, see you on the big day.” In the run-up to your wedding, I’ll check in regularly to chat about your timeline, photo list, and how comfortable you are (or aren't) in front of the camera. By the time we get to the wedding, we'll have everything covered—what’s important to you, who your key people are, and what you're looking forward to the most—so I can create timeless, beautiful memories for you.

I’m a team player. I keep it light—you’ll never catch me shouting at a wayward guest or huffing at a wedding planner because of timings. I believe in treating EVERYONE with respect and maintaining open, friendly, and light communication. When I am at your wedding, I am part of a team—the team that wants to make sure your day is as magical as possible.

I don’t take you off for hours. I wholeheartedly believe that a wedding day is a wedding day, not a photo shoot. I’m incredibly upfront about timing for photos. I’ve written a whole other blog post on planning your group shots and the timing for those, but your couple session will be two 10-15 minute sessions. These are very much a case of you both spending time together and me sneakily capturing those genuine moments while you are together. I may make you stop in the pretty light.

Now, I’m not one to blow my own trumpet, so I’ve left a few testimonials below to let you see what others are saying. But feedback has always been that it was like having a friend photograph their wedding, that the guests weren’t scared of me, and also, I am pretty funny if I do say so myself (just don’t ask my husband to second this).

My Style

My work is authentic, joyful, and timeless. If you’re looking for the latest Instagram trend, I might not be for you.

I want your wedding photographs to stand the test of time. This doesn’t mean stiff, boring, and traditional; this means classic, authentic, and true to the day. Genuine laughter and fun moments are at the heart of every gallery I send out.

I believe wedding photography should capture the heart of your wedding day. I focus (pun definitely intended), on the moments and showing off the connection between you as a couple and the connections between everyone at your wedding.

These photographs will last you to your ruby, gold, or even platinum anniversaries. Your wedding photos will be around maybe even after you are; I still have my grandparents' wedding photos to this day, which is why I avoid cheesy trends that will be out of date with the latest TikTok track.

My Experience

Whatever the weather, venue, or how cute your Uncle Bob is, I've got you covered!

With 14 years of experience, I've shot in all sorts of conditions—rain, wind, snow, excessive heat, candlelight, direct light, Thor level thunder, and overcast days. Whether it's a sunny day or a surprise storm, I know how to handle it and make it look beautiful. There's no light I can't take on! I've captured magical moments in barns, churches, manor houses, boats, farms, intimate elopements, and weddings with hundreds of people.

My main brag? In all these years, I've only tumbled twice in front of my couples or guests!

The Boring Stuff

I LOVE to have a backup. I have backup kit on a wedding day, backup hard drives for every wedding I shoot, backup cards in my camera so that if one card does fail, there’s a second. I have a backup of lovely photographers, so should anything happen that means I can’t make your wedding (this has never happened in 14 years), I have some incredibly talented, and trusted professional photographers on speed dial ready to jump in and back me up.

In short, I have a backup.

Do I Sound Like the Photographer for You?

I hope this helps you get a feel for who I am and how I work. If you think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to chat more about your wedding plans and how I can help capture your special day. Let’s create some timeless memories together!

What my Couples Say

Testimonials

Hannah & Alex

“Tash photographed our wedding in October 2021 and I could not recommend her enough!

After two cancellations thanks to the pandemic she was so amenable in swapping and changing our dates and made us feel at ease through the whole process.

Tash was a lovely and calm presence on the day and the photographs speak for themselves!”
